Malformed in 1997 as a fluid collective of friends jamming around the hub of Victoria Avenue in Didsbury, first as a post Friday night drinking alternative to going to bed at a reasonable hour. WHITECUBE then formalised around a desire to unleash their sounds on a "dead in the water" Britpop cul de sac around Manchester...allying themselves with the more experimental directions of Twisted Nerve's MUM + DAD and the interesting noises being thrown up by crash colliding bills at the Night + Day Cafe," The Festival of Briton" at the Briton's Protection and The Star and Garter.
It couldn't last...so by 1999 the 'CUBE imploded never to be seen again.
